Google I/O 2020 cancelled- what about Android 11 launch?

Google I/O 2020– A media report suggested that Alphabet, the parent company of Google has cancelled the annual developer conference- Google I/O 2020. The conference is cancelled due to the concern regarding the coronavirus COVID-19 epidemic.

The Google I/O 2020 was scheduled from May 12-14, 2020 which has been cancelled now. Google I / O is the most highlighted event from Google every year where the company highlights its new product and services.

The official statement given by the company states that- “Due to concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19) and in accordance with the health guidance from CDC, WHO, and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel the physical I / O development at Shoreline Amphitheatre. Over the coming weeks, we will explore other ways to evolve Google I/O to best connect with our developer community…”

Google I/O 2020 event- what about Android 11 launch?

As Google clearly said that he has cancelled the Google I/O 2020 event, then what about the Android 11 launch? The tech giant was supposed to launch its much-awaited latest Android operating system called- Android 11 during Google I / O 2020 event.

Android 11 developer preview is already out. According to some reports, Google will still unveil the latest Android 11 OS as per the schedule.

From reports, Google will also donate $1 million to the local Mountain View organization. The main motive behind this is to bring awareness towards the new coronavirus COVID-19 and help small businesses.

There were also some reports which suggested that the Google I / O conference will not be cancelled. As we all know, prevention is better than cure. So, Google decided that its good avoid public gathering instead of facing COVID-19. Many tech companies like Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, and others opted for online events instead of offline events. Google may also opt for the online mode to launch its upcoming product and services.
