Many may question the link between an independent game team’s catch with a public cloud computing service and here we are with an answer.

  1. Ban of PUBG: Some of the biggest companies like Tik Tok, Rules of Survival including PUBG Mobile. It was banned due to the tension between India and China near the Himalayan border.

The IT Ministry shut down these apps stating that these apps were against the country’s best interest.

This decision not only crippled the PUBG Mobile market in India. But also changed the whole scenario of the game’s overall player base.

  • PUBG Corporation ends its means with Tencent: The game development authority backed off its franchise with the Tencent market in India. However, it was not affected in any other region.

PUBG Mobile’s Indian servers were scrapped by the 30th of October. And the players have only access to the game via VPN. But KRAFTON is looking for solutions with Microsoft Azure and the hinds were already given by PUBG devs.

  • KRAFTON to host solutions with Microsoft Azure: According to Wikipedia:

“KRAFTON, Inc. is a collective of independent game development teams responsible for various entertainment properties, including PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS and TERA. The name, which is derived from the word craftsmanship. It is an acknowledgment of the company’s never-ending pursuit of innovation and creating engaging experiences. KRAFTON currently consists of PUBG Corporation, Bluehole, Striking Distance Studios, PNIX, and Delusion.”

To be more precise it KRAFTON is a collection of game designers who a few days ago declared their merge with Microsoft Azure for their hosting and server security needs.

PUBG Corporation has hinted few moves in its previous statement as:

“Moving forward, PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country. As the company explores ways to provide its own PUBG experience for India shortly. It is committed to doing so by sustaining a localized and healthy gameplay environment for its fans.”

“ PUBG Corporation fully understands and respects the measures taken by the government as the privacy and security of player data is a top priority for the company. It hopes to work hand-in-hand with the Indian government to find a solution. That will allow gamers to once again drop into the battlegrounds while being fully compliant with Indian laws and regulations.”

They further added:

“Protecting user data has always been a top priority, and we have always complied with applicable data protection laws and regulations in India. All users’ gameplay information is processed transparently, as disclosed in our privacy policy. We deeply regret this outcome, and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG MOBILE in India.”

  • How Microsoft Azure will solve PUBG Mobile’s security issues: Data security has been given the top priority by PUBG Mobiles as well as by KRAFTON. Their partnership with Microsoft Azure would be a mark of an upgrade for the organization.

Also, azure is known for its far-fetched security measures and to manage the concerns related to privacy. And security Microsoft Azure Trust Center has been created to assist the service complaints.

Azure’s fabric controller helps in scaling and reliability:

“Ensures the services and environment do not fail if one or more of the servers fails within the Microsoft data center. And which also provides the management of the user’s Web application such as memory allocation and load balancing.”

This will allow users to:

“Browse active resources, modify settings, launch new resources, and view basic monitoring data from active virtual machines and services.”

PUBG Corporation in collaboration with Microsoft Azure will endeavor to stay in India by ensuring the privacy rights of user’s(player’s):

“The relevant software will be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.”

With stepping further with KRAFTON, which will add security measures will also be working with Microsoft to set up a verification process:

“To ensure that storage of personally identifiable information of its players follows all appropriate requirements in the territories where KRAFTON and its subsidiaries operate gaming services.”

Creating solutions like this will be a variable solution for the hacking problem which will indeed change the Indian esports landscape extensively.
