WhatsApp dark mode theme feature– Finally the “WhatsApp dark mode” is out. The most popular social media messaging app WhatsApp has officially launched its dark theme for both Android and iOS. The dark mode feature is officially launched today with a launch video.
The dark mode feature is gradually rolling out for the users. So, sit back tight and update your WhatsApp.
The social media giant Facebook-owned WhatsApp has been working on this feature for last few years. Last year WhatsApp has also released the Dark Mode Beta version for both the platforms Android and iOS. Now the feature is gradually started rolling out to its 2 billion users globally.
The Dark theme for WhatsApp is designed in such a way that if you use your smartphone in low light, then it will not stress your eyes at all. This will also relieve you from those situations when you opens your WhatsApp in dark room and it lights up your entire room.

The newly available dark theme on WhatsApp for Android and iOS phones is purely black for iOS and darker grey for Android. The much-awaited dark mode feature was released by the app with a launch video, entitled “Hello Darkness”.
How to enable WhatsApp dark mode Android
Since this feature is gradually rolling out for its 2 billion users, chances are that some of you may not find the option on your phones. If you don’t find this feature, try updating your WhatsApp via Google Play Store of App store depending on what platform you are on- Android or iOS.
Once you have updated your app, follow this step- “How to enable WhatsApp dark mode Android”
- Go to Settings
- In the Chat option, tap on Display
- Inside Display, you will see Theme
- Choose the Dark theme to enable it
Apart form the Dark Theme, there are two more theme options available for Android users. They are-
Light Theme: It’s the light theme that you have been using since the past years.
Set by Battery Saver: This is available on Android 9 and lower OS versions. This setting automatically allows you to switch to a dark/light theme in accordance with your battery saver settings.
How to enable WhatsApp dark mode iOS iPhone
If you are on iOS 13 updated iPhone with system-wide dark theme activated then your WhatsApp will automatically switch to the new Dark Mode or dark theme.
